Animal Coloring Pages Maker
Pick an animal or let the page surprise you, add a farm, ocean or jungle backdrop, then print or save a PDF.
How to make an animal coloring page
- Pick a quick style, such as Unicorn, Horse, Shark, Turtle, ‘4 pictures per page’ or ‘Whole set, 6 per page’. Or open the ‘Picture’ menu and choose a named animal.
- Open ‘Layout’ and choose ‘One big picture’, ‘2 pictures’, ‘4 pictures’, ‘6 pictures’ or ‘Folding card’.
- If you chose one big picture, open ‘Backdrop’ and keep ‘Automatic’ or choose a fixed backdrop such as Meadow, Forest or Ocean.
- Turn on ‘Show the picture’s name’ if you want the animal’s name printed under it.
- Type a ‘Headline’ of up to 40 characters, and set ‘Writing lines’ from 0 to 6 and a ‘Letter style’ of Chunky or Rounded.
- Under ‘Page settings’, choose the paper size (US Letter or A4), orientation, line weight, page border and whether to add a title or a name line.
- Set ‘Number of pages’ from 1 to 30.
- Press ‘New design’ to get a new page with the same settings, or press the N key.
- Press ‘Print’ to print the coloring pages, or ‘Download PDF’ to save all pages as one PDF.
You can also press ‘Download PNG’ or ‘Download SVG’ to save page 1 as an image. ‘Copy link’ copies an address that reopens the same page, and ‘Color it online’ opens the same picture in the site’s online coloring tool.
Which animals are included?
The set has 33 animal drawings, including bear, bunny, horse, turtle, shark, unicorn, pig, lion, elephant, penguin and owl. Every drawing is made by the site’s own code, so no picture is copied from another website and there are no cartoon characters from films or TV. The backdrop matches the animal. Farm animals such as pig, cow, sheep, horse and duck get a farm with a fence, while shark, turtle, whale and fish get an ocean with waves and seaweed.
Can I put several animals on one page?
Yes. Choose ‘2 pictures’, ‘4 pictures’ or ‘6 pictures’ in the ‘Layout’ menu. Each picture on the sheet is different, and its name appears under it when names are turned on. Each one is small, so this layout suits kids who like to color several animals at once. The ‘Folding card’ layout divides the sheet with a dashed fold line. One half holds the picture and headline, and the other half has ‘To:’ and ‘From:’ lines and a box for a message. Backdrops can only be chosen for one big picture.
Are these good for toddlers and preschoolers?
These pages suit young children because the animals are cute and friendly, with simple faces and big spaces to color. For little hands, choose the ‘Thick’ line weight so the outlines are easy to see. Turn on ‘Show the picture’s name’ to print the animal’s name in big outline letters, which helps children who are learning to read. For older children, add ‘Writing lines’ under the picture so they can write a word or sentence.
Can I print the whole set as a coloring book?
Yes. The quickest way is the ‘Whole set, 6 per page’ style, which puts all the animals on 6 pages, 6 per sheet. You can also choose ‘Whole set, one picture per page’ in the ‘Picture’ menu and set ‘Number of pages’. Page 1 shows the first picture, page 2 the next, and so on. ‘Number of pages’ goes up to 30, so a one-per-page book holds 30 of the 33 animals; the 6-per-page style fits all of them. Then press ‘Print’ or ‘Download PDF’. All pages go into one print job or one PDF.
Is it free?
Yes. The tool is free, requires no sign-up and runs in your web browser. Nothing you make is uploaded. You can print the pages, download them as a PDF, PNG or SVG, or copy a link to reopen the same page later.
Can I color online?
Yes. Press ‘Color it online’ to open the same picture in the site’s online coloring tool. You do not need to print the page first. To come back to the same layout later, use ‘Copy link’ and open the address you saved. For more online coloring options, see the online coloring page listed below.
