Mandala Coloring Pages Generator

Choose the symmetry, detail and style, then print a new mandala or download a whole PDF of them.

This free mandala coloring pages generator draws a new printable mandala each time you press ‘New design’. It runs in your web browser, needs no sign-up, and nothing is uploaded or sent to a server. Each picture is drawn by the site’s own code when you press the button, so every design is new rather than copied from an image collection. You choose the style (floral, geometric, mixed or Christmas), how many times each motif repeats, and how much detail the rings hold. Then you print the sheet, download it as a PDF, PNG or SVG, or color it on screen. The same settings give you easy mandala coloring pages for young children and hard mandala coloring pages for adults.

How to use the mandala generator

  1. Choose a Style: Floral, Geometric, Mixed or Christmas. For a holiday design, press the quick button ‘Christmas mandala’.
  2. Set Symmetry (repeats) from 6 to 24, in steps of 2. The default is 12.
  3. Pick a Detail level: ‘Easy – big shapes’, ‘Medium’ or ‘Hard – fine detail’.
  4. Leave ‘Flower in the center’ on, or untick it. Tick ‘Decorate the corners’ to fill the four page corners with leaf fans.
  5. Open Page settings. Choose Paper (US Letter or A4), Orientation, Line weight (Thin, Medium or Thick) and Page border (None, Line, Rounded or Double).
  6. Optional: type a Title on the page and tick Add a name line.
  7. Set Number of pages from 1 to 30.
  8. Press New design (or the N key) until you see a picture you like.

Print sends only the picture pages to your printer, one picture per sheet. Download PDF saves all pages in one file. Copy link keeps your settings and design number, so the same picture opens again later. Color it online opens the same picture in the site’s online coloring tool.

Tip: Easy detail with Thick lines makes a quick page for a child; Hard detail with Thin lines and Decorate the corners fills a whole sheet for an adult.

What is a mandala?

A mandala is a round design built from rings, and each ring repeats one motif evenly around the center. The word comes from Sanskrit and means circle. Mandalas appear in Hindu and Buddhist art. In this generator, the Symmetry setting decides how many copies of each motif sit in a ring, and the Detail setting decides how many rings the design has.

How do you color a mandala?

Start in the center and work outward, or go ring by ring. Keeping one color for each ring makes the symmetry easy to see, because every repeat in that ring matches. Every closed shape has a white inside, so crayons, colored pencils and markers all work. Thick lines suit markers and young children, while thin lines suit colored pencils and fine detail.

Are there easy mandalas for kids and detailed ones for adults?

Yes. Detail controls the number of rings. ‘Easy – big shapes’ uses 4 to 5 rings, ‘Medium’ uses 7 to 9, and ‘Hard – fine detail’ uses 10 to 14 rings with small shapes. For a young child, choose Easy with Thick lines. For an adult who wants a longer project, choose Hard with Thin lines. A lower Symmetry value gives fewer, larger repeats, while a higher value fits more copies into each ring.

Can I print several different mandalas at once?

Yes. Set Number of pages from 1 to 30, and each page is a different design. Print sends the picture pages to your printer, one per sheet. Download PDF saves them all in one PDF, which is the simplest way to make a mandala coloring book.

Can I color it on screen instead of printing?

Yes. Press Color it online to open the same picture in the site’s online coloring tool. If you want to keep the picture for later, press Copy link, which saves the settings and design number so you can open it again.

Frequently asked questions

Can I print the mandalas on A4 paper?

Yes. Under Page settings, choose Paper ‘A4’ instead of ‘US Letter’, then pick Portrait or Landscape. The PDF and the printout use the paper you chose.

The link holds the settings and the design number, so it rebuilds the same design. If you change any setting, the picture changes too.

Will the PDF look sharp if I print it large?

Yes. Download PDF is a vector file, so its lines stay sharp at any size. The PNG download is a fixed-size image, so it is sharp only at the size it was saved.

Can I make a Christmas mandala coloring page?

Yes. Choose the Christmas style, or press the quick button ‘Christmas mandala’. The style uses snowflakes, stars and holly leaves.

What does ‘Decorate the corners’ add?

It adds fans of leaves in the four corners of the page. This fills the whole sheet, so less of the paper is left blank.

Can I leave out the flower in the middle?

Yes. ‘Flower in the center’ is on by default, so untick it to leave the center without a flower.

Can I remove the border?

Yes. Under Page settings, choose Page border ‘None’. The other options are Line, Rounded and Double.

Can I add my own title or name to the page?

Yes. Type text into ‘Title on the page’ to draw it in large outline letters at the top. Tick ‘Add a name line’ to add a ‘Name: ____’ line at the bottom.
