Superhero coloring pages are outline pictures of caped heroes, masks and city skylines with big areas to color in. This free maker draws them in your web browser, with no sign-up and nothing uploaded. The heroes are original characters, so there are no comic or film characters here. The set has eight pictures: a hero kid and a hero girl in capes, a domino mask, a shield, a lightning bolt, a city skyline, a star and a cloud. Print one big superhero coloring page, two, four or six to a sheet, or a folding card. Type your hero’s name as the headline. Press Print, or save a PDF, PNG or SVG. Every drawing is made by the site’s own code.

How to make superhero coloring pages

  1. Click a quick style such as Superhero kid, Superhero girl, Hero mask, Hero shield, Lightning bolt or City skyline. Or open the ‘Picture’ menu and choose a drawing, or leave it on ‘Surprise me’.
  2. Open ‘Layout’ and choose ‘One big picture’, ‘2 pictures’, ‘4 pictures’, ‘6 pictures’ or ‘Folding card’.
  3. With one big picture, open ‘Backdrop’. ‘Automatic’ puts the heroes in front of a city; you can also pick Sky, Night sky or another scene, or ‘None’ for a plain page.
  4. The picture’s name is shown under each picture by default. Untick ‘Show the picture’s name’ to remove it, or type your own hero name in ‘Headline’.
  5. Type a ‘Headline’ of up to 40 characters, set ‘Writing lines’ from 0 to 6 for the hero’s powers, and choose a ‘Letter style’ of Chunky or Rounded.
  6. Under ‘Page settings’, choose the paper (US Letter or A4), orientation, line weight (Thin, Medium or Thick) and page border. You can also add a title and a name line.
  7. Set ‘Number of pages’ (1 to 30) for a class set or a small book.
  8. Press ‘New design’ (or the N key) for a fresh page with the same settings. Then press ‘Print’ or ‘Download PDF’.

‘Download PNG’ and ‘Download SVG’ save page 1 as an image, ‘Copy link’ copies an address that reopens the same page, and ‘Color it online’ opens the same picture in the site’s online coloring tool.

Which superhero pictures are in the set?

The hero kid and hero girl stand with hands on hips in a long cape, a domino mask and a star on the chest. The girl has hair buns and a ponytail and wears a short skirt over her suit. The mask, the shield with a lightning bolt, and the bolt on its own are quick pictures to color, and the city skyline has buildings, windows and a moon. The star and cloud are small extras for a hero scene. All the drawings are original, so every hero is a new character for the child to name.

How do I make my own superhero?

Pick a hero and color the suit, cape and mask in the colors you choose. Type a hero name such as ‘Captain Kind’ or ‘Super Sam’ in the Headline box, and use Writing lines to write the hero’s power, weakness and best friend. For a class activity, print the ‘Whole set, one per page’ pack and ask each child to build a hero team. With the ‘Folding card’ layout, the hero stands on the front and a short message goes inside, which suits a superhero birthday card.

Are these characters from comics or films?

No. Every drawing is made by the site’s own code and shows an original hero with a generic mask, cape and star. The pages do not use names, logos or costumes from any comic book, film or TV series. If a child asks for a favorite character, they can color the hero in that character’s colors and write their own hero’s name.

Can I print them for a party or class?

Yes. Everything you make here is free for personal, classroom and commercial use. For a party, choose the ‘4 pictures per page’ style and cut the four pictures apart, or print the ‘Folding card’ layout as invitations.

Frequently asked questions

Are there superhero coloring pages for girls and boys?

Yes. The set has a hero kid and a hero girl. Both are original characters, and you can choose colors and a name for each.

Are Marvel or DC characters included?

No. Only original, generic heroes are included. No characters, names or logos from any comic or film are used.

Is the shield a copy of a famous shield?

No. It is a heraldic-style shield with a lightning bolt, made by the site’s own code.

Can I type my hero’s name?

Yes. Type it in the Headline box (up to 40 characters). It is printed at the top in outline letters that can be colored too.

Which paper and settings work best?

US Letter or A4 both work. Use Medium line weight for crayons and Thick for younger children. The hero kid and hero girl fit best in Portrait, and the city skyline looks good in Landscape.

Can I use what I make with the superhero coloring pages commercially?

Yes. Everything you make here is royalty-free for personal, classroom and commercial use, including KDP books, Etsy printables and Teachers Pay Teachers. No credit is required. The only thing you may not do is copy the generator or the site itself to run a competing service; see the terms.
